While the American rock band Aerosmith is on hiatus, the band’s lead singer Steven Tyler will make himself busy by designing new motorcycle models.
Right. The rock musician, along with Mark Dirico and AC Custom Motorcycles has recently launched the Red Wing Motorcycle Company. According to a recent press release, bike models from Red Wing Motorcycle combine the "rock and roll artistry and superior engineering." In addition, all bike models are handcrafted and sprinkled with Steven Tyler’s creativity.
According to Tyler: "You get on one of these bikes and you can ride for days. These bikes are sick, rugged, and just damn cool. And they’re amazing to look at.”
The bikes are based on Harley Davidson models, enhanced by Tyler in terms of aesthetic designs, and famous bike engineer Mark Dirico did the technical touches. In addition, Red Wing Motorcycle models pumps out a 35% increase in horsepower to the rear wheel. Red Wing Motorcycle Company has two models on their showroom so far: the ProStreet and Retro models.
Red Wing Motorcycle Company will announce the availability and the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of its models soon. What a great start for Tyler’s new career. Cool!
Anyway, I got to go now and find some Lexus brake dust shields on the web. By the way, watch out for the upcoming season finale races of MotoGP. Ciao!

The 2007 Japanese Grand Prix that took place at the Twin Ring Motegi was probably the best race for Ducati Marlboro team. Although Casey Stoner finished the race in the 6th place, he managed to secure the MotoGP World Championship title with flying colors! That’s a wrap for my fave rider. In the other hand, his teammate Loris Capirossi successfully took the Japanese Grand Prix trophy for Ducati.
Ducati’s CEO, Gabriele del Torchio was on the Twin Ring Motegi grand stand and witnessed his team’s double success. del Torchio commented: "This success is the best demonstration of Ducati excellence, a triumph of Italian intelligence, talent, competence and the warmth that is one of our country’s most vital assets. It’s an important and remarkable achievement, 34 years after the premier-class World Championship was last won by an Italian factory. It is a dream come true!"
Unfortunately, pole sitter Dani Pedrosa suffered an accident and cannot continue the race. He will undergo several tests including scans and x-rays to determine if he has bone fractures on his foot. As a result, Loris Capirossi capitalized and bagged the trophy. The Italian commented after the race:
"We struggled a lot this weekend and only yesterday did we find a better set-up solution. When I woke this morning and saw the rain I said ‘wow, for sure this is going to be a difficult day’. We didn’t know which would be the best tyres to use, so we started with medium rain tyres. At first it was really difficult, so I decided to pit early, and for sure my tactic was the best because I won my third consecutive race here, it’s a great moment for me. It’s also a great day for Casey, for Ducati and for the team. I congratulate Casey, he’s a really strong rider, I’m very happy for him."
Meanwhile, Casey Stoner was the happiest person during the race as he secured the MotoGP title. The Aussie rider commented: "At the moment it all feels a little bit unrealistic! I’m struggling for words, I don’t think there’s any feeling that can compare to this, but I think it’s really going to sink in as the day goes on and heads into tomorrow. The race started out quite well, we were able to get up front quite early and I had a reasonably good feeling with the bike, I was in a happy position. But then my rain tyres started wearing out as the track dried, and Valentino and Dani (Pedrosa) came past. I didn’t really know whether to come in or not, then my team put ‘box’ on my pitboard, so I had a bit more confidence to come in. After I changed bikes there was something up with the steering damper, the bike wasn’t allowing me to tip into corners, so I had to slow down to unwind it. Then I started to find more of a rhythm, Valentino had a problem and we managed to finish ahead of him. I guess that was the aim of the game today."

Right. Due to some technical problems of the Ducati Desmosedici GP7, Casey Stoner has concluded the practice race for the 2007 Japanese GP in the 5th place. Anyway, here is the full story about the practice race in Montegi circuit in Japan.
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa dominated the morning and afternoon practice race at Twin Ring Motegi aboard his Honda RC212V with Honda spark plug wire. The Spanish rider set the fastest lap time and clocked in at 1:47.865.
Pedrosa commented after the practice race: "I am happy so far. It was hot in the morning session and then it got even hotter in the afternoon, but still the balance of the bike felt good. We must continue to improve the set-up tomorrow because this is only the first day and for sure our rivals will be working hard to overtake us. As a first day today went quite well and the pace I could maintain was pretty fast and consistent, so I am happy so far. It was hot in the morning session and then it got even hotter in the afternoon, but still the balance of the bike felt good. I like this track and we must continue to improve the set-up tomorrow because this is only the first day and for sure our rivals will be working hard to overtake us. I am very happy to have signed for Honda again today and I hope we can continue this weekend in the positive way we have started."
Below is the practice result.

Although this practice race is quite frustrating for my fave rider Casey Stoner, he said that he will get back on track on the next practice race all the way to the actual Japanese GP race.
Going back to Dani Pedrosa, during the practice race, Repsol Honda once again signed the 21-year old Spanish rider to the team. Pedrosa will be racing for Repsol Honda next year until the 2009 season. he commented: "I am very happy to have signed for Honda again today. I hope we can continue this weekend in the positive way we have started. Although this year things have not turned out to be quite as we wanted, Honda and I have the spirit to come back with renewed motivation, stronger than ever."

Valentino Rossi (FIAT Yamaha) and Casey Stoner (Ducati Marlboro), the closest rivals this 2007 season of FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix (MotoGP), aim to take the MotoGP crown away from current champ Nicky Hayden (Repsol Honda).
With Rossi’s recent win in Portugal, the Italian rider is confident that he could win the other upcoming MotoGP races starting in Montegi circuit for the 2007 Japanese Grand Prix. Rossi commented: "Portugal was a great, great race and it was fantastic to win again after so long. Now we go straight to Motegi and the motivation and confidence within the team is very high. We know that our rivals are always very strong in Motegi and we expect the same from Stoner this year, but I’ve never won there with Yamaha so I will be doing my best to change that this week.
"We’re not thinking of the championship, we know it’s probably out of our reach, but we can do the best we can to try to keep it open for as long as possible and this will be our goal next week. Our top speed is much better with the new engine, our tyres worked well in Portugal and now we hope we have the same situation again in Japan."
Meanwhile, Casey Stoner hopes to get back on track and continue his winning streak that was ended by Rossi. Check out what the Aussie rider has to say about the race in Montegi:
"We weren’t so lucky in the race last Sunday but I think we should be able to come back strong at Motegi because we’ve got a great team and the bike and tyres are so strong at the moment. Motegi is Bridgestone’s home race and it’s in Japan, so I know Ducati always likes to do well there! Ducati has taken pole position and the win the last two times we’ve been to Motegi, so it would be nice if we can do the same. I really want to try and win a few more races before the end of the season. And if we focus on winning races, then the championship should come. Motegi is a bit of a computer-designed track but it works well. We were very competitive there last year and the year before I was on the 250 podium. You need a bike that’s very good on the brakes, which should be good for us. You also need good acceleration, which we still need to improve. We’ve got good midrange and top end but our bottom end needs improving a little bit."
Well, may the best rider win. I won’t be biased with Stoner this time. Ha-ha.
September 18, 2007
It was a bit of bad luck for my fave rider Casey Stoner at the recent 2007 Portuguese Grand Prix when he only finished in the 3rd place, a way too far than I expected. Anyway, I think it is not frustrating for Stoner and his fans (including me!) after all.
Well, FIAT Yahama rider and 7-time MotoGP champ successfully landed the victory during the race. Although Repsol Honda rider and current champ Nicky Hayden has the pole, Rossi managed to finish the race in the first place and scored his 4th win this season.
Though the MotoGP fans was full of excitement during the race, the motor sport community including Rossi, a rally car fanatic mourned World Rally (WRC) champ Colin McRae, who died in a helicopter crash the day before the race.
Rossi commented: "This is a very important victory for us in every way, it’s the fourth one of the year so the numbers are starting to look a little bit better," said Rossi, who had been shut out of the podium since his victory at TT Assen in June. "It’s a great, great emotion to win again after so long without even a podium. Today my Yamaha and my tyres worked very well. Our new engine is better and today I was able to keep in the slipstream of the Honda and the Ducati on the straight, and even to go alongside them at some points, so this is very important."
"I want to dedicate this victory to Colin McRae, who sadly died yesterday. Colin is one of my idols from when I was very young and it’s because of him that I have my passion for rally. It’s a very sad day for motorsport and I am glad that I could win for him today."
Here is the result of the 2007 MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, Casey Stoner retains his spot in the point standings and I hope he would continue to score more points to secure his MotoGP crown. He also commented after the race:
"I’m happy with the result, but we did have higher expectations going into this race, at least to be there on the last lap, battling for the win. We thought we had a pretty good set-up, but unfortunately I started having a problem with the clutch about five laps into the race. There was no engine braking so I couldn’t try and brake as late as the other guys without running wide into the turns. It was very difficult to manage the situation and it took me quite a few laps to learn to ride around the problem. Towards the end I started to have quite a good rhythm again, I was getting faster and started to close them down. I felt like I had enough stamina to chase them but I just didn’t have the feeling with the bike and I didn’t have enough laps. I needed a few more tenths to get on to the back of them but I wasn’t to be, we lost too much time at the beginning. Anyway, I gave my all and the team has done another fantastic job all weekend. We’ve been fast, we had a little problem today, but I think we can come back again next weekend."

September 15, 2007
Current MotoGP point leader Casey Stoner once again proved that he is fast and good enough to take the MotoGP crown this 2007 season. During the recent practice test race for the upcoming 2007 Portuguese Grand Prix, the 21-year old Aussie rider dominated the race and clocked in with the fastest lap time of 1 minute and 37.950 seconds aboard his No. 27 Ducati Desmosedici GP7. Meanwhile, 7-time MotoGP champ Valentino Rossi followed Stoner and landed the 2nd place.
Stoner commented after the race:
"We’re reasonably happy with the way today went, we struggled a little bit this morning and also a little bit in the last part of this afternoon’s session but apart fro that we’re very happy with the settings we’ve got for this track, which is one of the most difficult circuits of the year with a lot bumps and some very technical corners. We’ve nearly done race distance on the tyres, so everything is thing going very well, we just need to try and improve the traction for tomorrow. If we can do that then we should be able to push to improve our lap times and also our pace for the race."
Valentino Rossi also commented after the race:
"Today I am quite happy because we’ve made some improvements to the new engine and it’s going well for us, plus the new tyres that we found at the last test are also working quite well. We have a few small problems to fix, but I was able to ride a lot better today; I was quite fast from the start and we did some good work to find the right setting. Also this afternoon Tamada used a qualifying tyre so in reality we were second fastest on race tyres and quite close to Stoner; this is a good result. The bike is not so bad and it feels like we’ve made a good step forward. At the moment we need to think about the second part of the race, because this is where we expect more problems, but tomorrow the condition of the asphalt should be improved so hopefully this will also help our tyre performance."
Just watch out for the upcoming qualifying race and see who’s gonna take the pole. Also, check out this blog for the result of the upcoming 2007 Portuguese Grand Prix.

While waiting for the upcoming 2007 Portuguese Grand Prix in MotoGP, let me bring you some fresh news from the world of motocross racing.
As expected for a motocross competition, the recent race for the AMA Motocross Championship that took place at the Glen Helen Raceway was full of excitement. Current AMA Championship point leader Grant Langston successfully landed the victory for the first motocross race event in Glen Helen aboard his Yamaha YZ450F. However, he is quite unlucky during the second motocross race and finished in the 3rd place. But not that bad, though as he still remain as the overall point leader.
Meanwhile, Kevin "K-Dub" Windham, aboard his Honda CRF450R won the second AMA Motocross round in Glen Helen. K-Dub commented after the race: “I know I didn’t win the overall or the title, but the crowd was really supporting me out there today. I don’t have a deal lined up yet for next year and this could be my final National, so I wanted to do one final victory lap around the track to thank everyone.”

After taking the pole position, fastest lap time, and the MotoGP (FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix) trophy in the last three races (2007 U.S., Czech, and San Marino Grand Prix), Ducati Marlboro rider and my personal fave Casey Stoner is now ready for the final step to conquer the MotoGP World Championship aboard his No. 27 Ducati Desmosedici GP7. Stoner needs to score not less than 15 points in the upcoming 2007 Portuguese Grand Prix at Estoril race track to bag the championship. If he doesn’t achieve this score, his closest rival and 7-time MotoGP champ Valentino Rossi can still take the lead as the 2007 season has four other remaining races that will end up in the Spanish city of Valencia.
Check out what Casey Stoner has to say about the upcoming race in Portugal.
"We’ve got five races left now and if we are able to win the championship it doesn’t matter at which race we win it, anywhere will do. Everything’s working really well with our package at the moment. The team and the technicians are great, we work very well together, we are like a family. That helps a lot, you can do the same job if you don’t have that relationship, but having a good relationship makes things more relaxed. I know the team believes in me and in my ability, which takes the pressure off, I felt this from the very first race. I’ve always gone quite well at Estoril, I won the 250 race there in 2005. Some of the track flows, some of it doesn’t. The fast right onto the back straight was almost flat out on the 990s, so it should be flat out this year, but it’s nothing like turn 11 in Turkey. The chicane is a bit too slow, really. There’s a couple of parts I really enjoy, like turn two, which is a very, very difficult off-camber downhill corner that catches out a lot of riders. There seems to be a lot of passing opportunities at Estoril, so you get a lot of overtaking, so it should be a reasonably good race."
Meanwhile, Stoner’s teammate Loris Capirossi is currently on the 8th spot in the world championship standings. He also commented about the upcoming race in Estoril circuit:
"I like riding at Estoril. Last year we had a difficult time there with the tyres but everything is different now, Bridgestone has made an amazing step forward this year. I think we have a good opportunity to have a good race in Portugal. We had quite a difficult weekend at Misano but we were able to recover really well for the race, and maybe what we learned there will help us at Estoril, which also features quite a few tricky corners. Estoril isn’t a bad racetrack, it’s not that interesting or that boring either, but it’s tight and bumpy, so it’s very physically demanding. A lot of the layout is fun, though the first corner is a bit of a joke and I’m not so keen on the tiny chicane which really, really tight and therefore a bit awkward, but I guess it’s the same for all the riders. For me, the best corner is turn five - for sure this is one of the best corners that we find throughout the whole MotoGP championship. It’s a big test of rider, machine and tyres, and it is very enjoyable, when you make a good job of it."

Yahama team’s Grant Langston continued his domination in AMA Motocross by winning another race for the 2nd consecutive time. Langston is currently on top of the point standings in AMA Motocross and has extended his point lead with his recent win at Freestone County Raceway in Wortham, Texas during the Monster Energy Freestone National, tbe round 11 of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship Presented by FMF. This is Langston’s 11th win in his entire AMA National career.
However, Langston has to maintain his lead over the other riders. The Murrieta, California native earned a total of 394 points, an 8-point lead over his closest rival Andrew Short. Short finished the Monster Energy Freestone National race in the 5th place overall aboard his Honda CRF450R equipped with quality Honda oil pan.
Grant Langston commented:
"The points lead is so tight and I knew I needed to win to take control of the championship. Obviously I got a little extra cushion it doesn’t change any strategy. I like Glen Helen I’ve always done well there. I’m definitely looking forward to it and hopefully I can finish this off and win a championship."

Whoa! Casey Stoner did it!
The Aussie rider once again (again and again) landed another MotoGP victory and scored his eight win this season at the 2007 San Marino Grand Prix. Stoner pushed his 800 cc Ducati Desmosedici GP7 to the finish and bagged the trophy leaving other riders behind.
Stoner commented after the race:
"It took a lot of concentration to not make any mistakes because it was really hot and hard work today. This was very nice win for me. Yesterday I wasn’t so confident, but when we arrived on the grid today we were quite confident with the setting and everything worked well, we got a good start and we were able to get a good advantage. If there was a group up front my plan was to separate the group so there were less riders to battle with, I expected it to be a very difficult race. The team did a great job all weekend, they really pulled through for me."
"I’m still taking the championship race-by-race. It was unfortunate what happened to Valentino and to Dani (Pedrosa) today, but I was out in front doing my own thing, I had enough pressure myself"
Stoner boosted his World Championship score and now leads 85 points ahead of 7-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi. By the way, Rossi was forced to retire in the race due to some technical problems.
