Daytona Supercross Results

James Stewart

James Stewart raced his way to win the Daytona Supercross presented by Honda. He led every lap, inching his way to a 13.571-second victory.

It was his first win and certainly wouldn’t be the last.

He struck first place in “The World Center of Racing” main event. Stewart’s only accountable triumph was during 2004 at DIS in the Supercross Lites class. He sped through Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael and Yamaha’s Chad Reed.

“I just got to give this win a lot of credit to my dad,” said Stewart, who is from nearby Haines City, Fla. “He puts a lot of work on me during the week and it showed tonight. I never got tired and I felt good. I just got to give credit to everyone around me. It’s not a one-man show – it’s a team sport.”

Stuart made his final Daytona Supercross by Honda at Daytona International Speedway last Friday. He is now making a changeover from Supercross to stock car racing and has a development contract with Bobby Ginn Racing which fields NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Teams with drivers Mark Martin, Sterling Marlin, Joe Nemechek and Regan Smith.

2007 Harley-Davidson XL 1200N Nightster

2007 Harley-Davidson XL 1200N Nightster

Harley-Davidson (H-D) sure is one of the leading motorcycle manufacturers. Now its 2007 XL 1200N Nightster has shoved its brakes on the brand’s best-selling lineups. H-D took a standard Sportster 1200 and used matte black and grey finishes on the bodywork and engines perfect for the tough bad ass biker look.

The bare-knuckled Nightster offers a lowered the rear end for a custom look and added chopped front and rear fenders, side-mounted license plate, stop-turn tail lights, low 25.3-inch seat height and old-school-style front fork gaiters. Also there’s the rawboned graphics and a new finish on its V-Twin Evolution engine. Its bike pegs are close enough to the rider that your body position feels like you’re sitting in a chair with knees bent at a 90 degree angle, thighs parallel to the ground and shins perpendicular to it.

It also has multiple color options all in the range of the black shades: vivid black, two-tone Brilliant Silver Denim, Black Denim, Two-tone Mirage Orange Pearl, vivid black two-tone Olive Pearl Denim, Black Denim, Two-tone Suede Blue Pearl and the conventional vivid black.

H-D has added an ergonomic motorcycle setting. Its clutch parts serve a multi-plate with diaphragm spring in the oil bath with a final carbon-fiber belt drivetrain. The wide bars give tons of leverage to throw the bike around. Although the Nightster isn’t exactly lightweight, just be careful of those wide bars while splitting lanes!
